Convergent Computing has been involved in the beta development, testing, and support for the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) server product since the first beta of the ISA/2000 back in the late 1990's. While ISA/2000 as a product failed to meet all of the expectations that organizations had for a secured firewall product, ISA 2004 and then finally ISA/2006 has completely turned perceptions around as ISA/2006 provides security far beyond perimeter security functionality (such as reverse proxy for Outlook Web Access, secured site-to-site VPN, Active Directory integrated security, and L2TP-VPN security to Windows).
CCO's senior consultant, Michael Noel, took his expertise one step further and wrote a best selling book on the technology. The book, "ISA Server 2006 Unleashed" is another Sams/Que Publishing book written by CCO's consultants. This book covers best practices, tips, and lessons learned in architecting and implementing ISA/2006 in an enterprise environment.
Services CCO Provides around ISA:
- Designing and planning the number of ISA servers that should be placed in the environment (for load balancing and fault tolerance)
- Server scalability and sizing
- ISA Server implementation (including enterprise server pooling and configruation)
- Configuring server rules to allow (and disallow) access for common uses (Exchange Outlook Web Access reverse proxy, secured FTP, security VPN, remote SharePoint access, etc)
