Threat Management Gateway (TMG) 2010 / Unified Access Gateway (UAG) 2010

Convergent Computing has been involved in the beta development, testing, and support for the Microsoft Threat Management Gateway (TMG (formerly ISA Server)) product since the first beta over a decade ago. TMG provides security far beyond perimeter security functionality (such as reverse proxy for Outlook Web Access, secured site-to-site VPN, Active Directory integrated security, and L2TP-VPN security to Windows).

Convergent Computing has also been involved in the early development and now production deployment of the Microsoft Unified Access Gateway (UAG) that provides end-point security in a Microsoft (and non-Microsoft) environment.

CCO's senior consultant, Michael Noel, took his expertise one step further and has written best selling book on the Microsoft security technologies.  Michael's books covers best practices, tips, and lessons learned in architecting and implementing ISA / TMG / UAG in an enterprise environment.

Services CCO Provides around TMG / UAG:

  • Designing and planning the number of TMG / UAG servers that should be placed in the environment (for load balancing and fault tolerance)
  • Server scalability and sizing
  • TMG/ UAG Server implementation (including enterprise server pooling and configruation)
  • Configuring server rules to allow (and disallow) access for common uses (Exchange Outlook Web Access reverse proxy, secured FTP, security VPN, remote SharePoint access, etc)
