Details:

Microsoft Exchange 2010 has been out now for almost a year and organizations on older versions of Exchange are preparing their migrations to the new messaging environment.

This seminar, presented by Rand Morimoto, President of Convergent Computing, and author of the 1350-page #1 selling book in the world on the topic titled “Exchange 2010 Unleashed” will share over 3-years of experience migrating organizations to Exchange 2010 (2-yrs in early adopter migrations, and the past year in full RTM and early adopter SP1 migrations).

Some of the things Rand will share (and demonstrate) in this seminar include:

·         What’s new in Exchange 2010 and how early adopters have leveraged the new technologies

·         How Exchange 2010 is similar and different to Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2003

·         What’s involved in migrating to Exchange 2010 (from Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007)

·         Recommendations for architecting an optimum Exchange 2010 environment

·         Understanding Database Availability Groups (DAGs) and how they replace Cluster Continuous Replication (CCR), Standby Continuous Replication (SCR), and even traditional Single Copy Clusters (SCC) {note: CCR, SCR, and SCC are completely gone from Exchange 2010, all replaced by DAGs}

·         Where Outlook 2010 fits in to a migration to Exchange 2010 (old versions of Outlook still work fine though, however the migration needs to account for mixed Outlook 2003, 2007, and 2010 with special migration configuration settings)

·         How the new Outlook Web Access 2010 now supports Apple Mac and FireFox clients in premium mode

·         What new enhancements are available for archiving, eDiscovery, regulatory compliance support, data indexing, and search

·         How certificates (including Subject Alternative Names) need to be configured to seamlessly migrate users from E2003/E2007/Outlook/Windows Mobile/iPhone to Exchange 2010

·         What’s new in Exchange 2010 Unified Messaging (voicemail) including automatic voice to text conversion of voicemail messages for easy glance and look-up of messages

·         What’s required for Active Directory and pre-req’s in getting your existing Exchange environment prepared for your migration to Exchange 2010

·         Note: this session will be 50% product background, and 50% on migration specifics, so a balance of What’s new / better in Exchange 2010, and things an org needs to think about when migrating to E2010
